Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

Positive Behavior Intervention Support

PBIS is a research-based intervention designed to promote positive behaviors by:
-incorporating proactive instructional approaches to teach and improve social behaviors,
-using collected data to inform decisions, and
-working collaboratively to create a school setting conducive to learning.

South Beauregard Upper Elementary utilizes PBIS to encourage students to make positive decisions and follow school rules and expectations. Our program includes:

          -reciting, daily, SBUE expectations
-the practice and execution of school-wide procedures
                   (ex: hallway transitions, restroom, cafeteria)
          -tracking student behaviors
          -short-term and long-term reward systems
-honoring students with above-average behavior as Knights of the Month
